You may be interested to learn that APCCMI 2025 will be held during the week of the “Loy Krathong Festival”, Thailand’s most enchanting celebration that involves setting a “Krathong” onto the water to pay homage to water and to cast off bad luck.

The festival is also called the “Festival of Lights” due to the millions of lit floats that are cast off into the water during the full moon resembling twinkling stars or fireflies.

A Krathong (as illustrated above), is a small float traditionally made from banana leaves and trunk that is decorated with flowers, a candle and incense. In northern Thailand, the festival is celebrated by casting off paper lanterns into the night sky and is called “Yi Peng” in the local dialect.

Dates to Remember

The Thai government has Introduced the “Digital Arrival Card,” an electronic version of the traditional disembarkation card that visitors are required to complete upon arrival effective May 2025. You must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card 3 days prior to your arrival by going to the Immigration Department’s portal at https://tdac.immigration.go.th On completing the online form, you will receive an acknowledgement email which MUST be presented to the immigration officer along with your passport on your arrival.
