The 20th Asia Pacific Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infection (APCCMI 2025) in Bangkok, Thailand, on 2 – 4 November 2025 is co-hosted by the Infectious Disease Association of Thailand (IDAT). The 3-day program built by regional and international experts, focuses on the global burden of infection particularly in our Asia-Pacific region and present new insights and knowledge. The Congress will be held at the True Icon Hall located at Iconsiam.
Important Update on Thailand Entry Procedures: The Thailand Digital Arrival Card
The Thai government has introduced the “Digital Arrival Card,” an electronic version of the traditional disembarkation card that visitors are required to complete upon arrival in Thailand effective 1 May 2025. You must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card 3 days prior to your arrival by going to the Immigration Department’s portal at https://tdac.immigration.go.th
On completing the online form, you will receive an acknowledgement email which MUST be presented to the immigration officer along with your passport on your arrival.

Loy Krathong Festival
The APCCMI 2025 week falls during the Loy Krathong Festival sometimes called the “Festival Lights.”
The “Loy Krathong Festival” is perhaps one Thailand’s most enchanting celebrations that involves setting a “Krathong” or “float” onto the water to pay homage to water and to cast off bad luck. The festival is also called the “Festival of Lights” due to the millions of lit floats that are cast off into the water during the full moon resembling twinkling stars or fireflies. A Krathong is a small float traditionally made from banana leaves and trunk that is decorated with flowers, a candle and incense. In northern Thailand, the festival is celebrated by casting off paper lanterns into the night sky and is called “Yi Peng” in the local dialect.
